THE SACRED GARDEN BOOKSTORE
COFFEE -- BOOKS -- GIFTS -- SPIRIT
OUR FIVE-FOLD MISSION
SUPPORTING SPIRITUAL GROWTH
Offering ecumenical spiritual resources for the walk of faith, including books on the Enneagram, the labyrinth, devotionals, contemplative prayer, Biblical studies, Celtic spirituality, HeartMath, spiritual direction, money, social justice, and the Emerging Church. We also supply textbooks for all Servant Leadership School classes at a 20% discount to students.
SUPPORTING COMMUNITY
Offering space for community and nonprofit group meetings, classes, book clubs, discussion groups and other events, as well as sacred space in the downtown community that includes a walled prayer/meditation garden open to anyone. Additionally, many of the books we offer were previously available only online. We long to foster a sense of community for spiritual seekers who wish to delve into deeper levels of their faith, inviting them to "come out of the closet" so to speak (or at least out from behind their computers), and enter a space where they can browse, interact, and share with others on their journey. We can also special order most titles, with no additional charge for shipping.
SUPPORTING FAMILY
Offering books and resources for the entire life's journey, from baptism through all life stages. We have a Children's Corner with books and toys to safely occupy young ones while you browse.
SUPPORTING SUSTAINABILITY
Offering products, books, information, and resources to encourage lifestyle changes that can make a lasting positive impact on God's Creation, and for future generations. We are proud to carry locally made EcoEveryday 100% natural and ethically produced laundry detergent and re-usable canvas bags (sales support Holy Trinity's Environmental Stewardship Commission). Our shopping bags are made from 100% recycled paper that is at least 95% post-consumer product.
SUPPORTING LOCAL ARTISTS & CAUSES
Offering gifts, cards, music and other items from local entrepreneurs and artisans, including pottery by Peter Strafaci, photography by Tom Gravitte and John Compton, ceramic angels by Ellen Drake, music by Ben Brafford, Maurice Horne and Will Ridenhour, Guided Meditations by Sarah Campbell Arnett, and mixes from the Old Guilford Mill. All of the proceeds of many of our gifts and cards support local causes and missions, like the Guilford Interfaith Hospitatlity Network, St. Joseph's Home, Trinity House, and Wings of Hope homes for abandoned and disabled children in Haiti.
